▣ Best supplement for Lorikeets and honeyeaters

▣ Attracting native birds.

About Blue Bay Nectar

Blue Bay Nectar is an easily prepared food for nectar eating birds and animals including lorikeets , honeyeaters and sugar gliders.

These insectivorous mammals consume large quantities of nectar and pollen in nature.

They have a great need for carbohydrates because of their high metabolism. Blue Bay Nectar is enriched with important nutritional elements as well as high carbohydrates which are easily assimilated that they need to sustain their high energy level.

Directions for Feeding

Stir or shake thoroughly with 1 part Nectar into 4 parts warm water. Serve in clean bowl 3 times a week.

store nectar in refrigerator for one day or freeze in icecube trays for longer.

Do not re-freeze thawed nectar.

TO SUPPLEMENT WILD BIRDS

This food is an ideal supplement for attracting native birds into the garden. Set up an elevated feeding station on a pole or suspend it from the branch of a tree. Dispense the prepared food in a shallow , glazed bowl. Ration daily feed to no more than 10m1 per lorikeet or 5m1 per haneyeater. Always limit the amount of food offered because other people in your neighbourhood are probably feeding the same birds. Remove the bowl after feeding and thoroughly clean it. Be aware that when you attract birds into your garden you may also attract bird predators.

TO FEED CAPTIVE BIRDS

This food will adequately maintain captive lorikeets or honeyeaters, however for breeding success the following is strongly recommended.

1. It is desirable to keep lorikeets and honeyeaters in large aviaries planted with native flowering shrubs. This offers the birds a source of pollen, nectar and insects.

2. Prior to and during the breeding season birds should be offered fruit and an additional protein source.
